Understand the filtration principle: Different filtration principles determine the filtration effect and scope of application of water purifier taps. Common filtration principles include physical filtration, adsorption filtration, ion exchange and so on. Physical filtration, such as PP cotton filtration, mainly removes large particles of impurities through interception; Adsorption filtration, such as activated carbon adsorption, can remove the residual chlorine, odor and some organic matter in the water; Ion exchange is used to remove or regulate the ionic composition of water, such as softening hard water. To understand the filtration principle of the product, we can preliminarily judge its filtration capacity for different impurities.
View filtration accuracy: Filtration accuracy is an important indicator to measure the filtration effect of water purifier taps, usually in microns (μm). The smaller the value, the smaller the impurity particles that can be filtered out, the better the filtration effect. For example, the faucet that can filter 0.1μm impurities is more accurate than the faucet that can filter 1μm impurities, and the removal ability of small pollutants such as bacteria and viruses is stronger.
Study the material and combination of filter element: filter element is the core component of water purification faucet, and its material directly affects the filtration effect. High quality activated carbon filter has strong adsorption capacity and can effectively remove residual chlorine and odor; Ultrafiltration membrane filter element can trap bacteria, colloids and other macromolecular substances; RO reverse osmosis membrane can remove almost all impurities, including heavy metals, salts and so on. In addition, some high-end water purification taps use a variety of filter element combination, such as PP cotton + activated carbon + ultrafiltration membrane three-stage filtration, can achieve a more comprehensive filtration effect.
Refer to professional testing and certification
Check the test report: the regular water purification faucet products are usually tested by professional institutions, and consumers can ask businesses to provide relevant test reports to check the removal rate data of the products on various pollutants, such as the removal effect of heavy metals, bacteria, residual chlorine, etc. The test report should be authoritative and impartial, and generally issued by a qualified third-party testing institution.
Pay attention to product certification: The relevant certification obtained by the product is also an important basis for judging the filtering effect. For example, NSF certification is an internationally widely recognized certification standard for water-related products, and the water purification faucets certified by NSF indicate that they meet strict standards in terms of material safety and filtration effect. The domestic water-related sanitation license is also an important sign that the product meets the health and safety requirements.
Conduct actual testing and observation
Water quality comparison test: Water quality test tools, such as water quality test pens, can be used to test the water quality before and after using the water purification faucet. Compare the test data, such as the TDS (total dissolved solids) value, if the TDS value is significantly reduced after use, it indicates that the faucet has a better removal effect on dissolved impurities. The residual chlorine test can also be carried out, and the residual chlorine content in the water can be detected by the residual chlorine test agent, and the residual chlorine can be significantly reduced after the use of the water purifier.
Observe the appearance and taste of the water: the water faucet with good filtration effect should be clear and transparent, without visible impurities, suspended matter or color changes. At the same time, the taste should have no odor, no astringent feeling, and become more sweet and refreshing. If the water still has a significant odor or poor taste, the filtration effect may not be ideal.
Long-term use observation: In the process of long-term use, observe whether there are impurities precipitation, scale formation and other phenomena. If after a period of use, there is still little scaling and impurity precipitation in the sink or water pipe, indicating that the filtration effect of the water purification faucet is relatively stable, and can effectively intercept and remove scaling substances and impurities in the water.
